Episode 60 | I’m too busy to workout

In today’s world, it seems everyone is always busy. Between work, family obligations, and social commitments, there never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done. Many people say, “I’m too busy to workout.”

But is that true?

Probably not?

Most of us just don’t know how to prioritize our overall health and fitness, or don’t yet see it as something we should do.

There are plenty of workouts that require little or no equipment and can be done pretty much anywhere. A person just needs to have a little discipline, motivation, and commitment to get it done (just kidding, you also need to PLAN it). Motivation is nothing without discipline; yes, motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you going. It’s easy to be motivated when everything is going your way, but it’s hard to stay disciplined when things are tough. That’s why successful people can push through the tough times: they have the discipline to stay focused on their goals no matter what. So don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of motivation – just focus on developing the discipline needed to achieve your goals. Hence, finding someone to help you create that discipline is essential because discipline can be learned and encouraged in people; you just have to find the right team.

Developing a system is one of the best ways to create discipline. It’s easier to stick to your routine when you have a plan and know what you need to do. And that’s where developing a daily practice comes in handy. A morning routine can help get your day started on the right foot. A support system is also important for any fitness goal, whether to lose weight, gain muscle mass or simply maintain current fitness levels. When surrounded by people who understand and support your goals, it’s easier to stay on track and achieve success. So find a workout buddy or group, join an online forum, or tell your friends and family about your plans. Having that network of supporters will help keep you motivated when the going gets tough and you need that extra push to reach your fitness goals.

Changing your mindset is one of the first steps to making a change. If you tell yourself you’re too busy to work out, that’s exactly what will happen. Even the busiest person can carve out a little time for themselves – even 10-20 minutes to workout. It’s just about finding the proper structure and making it into a routine; just start small and manageable.

Despite our busy lives, we can all find ways to work fitness into our schedules. It may not be easy, but it is worth it. Instead of thinking, “I don’t have time to work out today,” try telling yourself, “I will make time to work out today.” This small change in attitude can make a difference in following through with your fitness goals. So don’t let being too busy keep you from staying healthy and being at your very best.
