I’m too old to join a gym!

Nonsense!

For starters, age is only a number.

In fact, one of the main reasons we should be working out is to enable ourselves to live long healthy and productive lives. At its core, CrossFit is designed to help us live functional lives, for all of the years that we spend on earth. “Functional” may look different during different stages of life, but the need to be able to squat, throw, pick something up off the floor, and carry things doesn’t change.

The goal is not simply to live a long time but to also live productive and enjoyable lives, and it’s never too late to start. One of our favorite classes to watch in the gym is our Masters’s class. We work out to prevent injury, build strength, balance, endurance, coordination, aerobic capacity, and overall health. That is exactly what our Masters’s classes are geared towards. Seeing people grow and develop throughout every stage of their lives is awesome!

Many people mean well when they say “Don’t work out or lift weights because you will hurt yourself”. Sure, that might be true if you’re doing it wrong, lifting too heavy for your capacity, or not focusing on form. However, with the right guidance, working out will actually help you prevent injury and be more capable of accomplishing and enjoying things around you. Seek out a gym that cares about your overall health and fitness (we like to think we are pretty good at it).

When we get the green light to open back up, we will be running our Masters class again. This is one of our most popular classes and will fill up fast.

Please send an email to admin@crossfitcamrose.com if you are interested in booking your spot or you have someone in mind who would benefit from a class aimed at lifelong health.

One more thought.

Instead of saying “I am 80 years old,” can we say, “I am at level 80?”.
