Do you ever feel like you can’t stick with anything? Like every time you try to do something, you end up quitting? If that sounds like you, don’t worry, you’re not alone. A lot of people find it hard to stick with things.
It can be tough to stay motivated when you’re constantly bombarded with ads for the latest, greatest program or method to help you get in shape fast. But if you take a step back and look at all of the programs out there, it quickly becomes overwhelming – and chances are, you end up quitting before you ever really start anything.
We get it. It can be overwhelming to decide which program is right for you, and with so many fads, it’s tempting to try every new thing. But if you’ve found something with a solid foundation, good habits, and some points that are helping you achieve your goals, stick with it! Don’t quit before you even start. Because if you go in with unrealistic expectations, you’re going to assume that that program is garbage or that there’s something wrong with you, as opposed to the fact that it is just taking time.
Giving up on something you’ve started is never a good feeling. Whether it’s your diet, a new project at work, or even folding the laundry, it’s not satisfying to walk away from something without completing it. So why do we so often give up when it comes to fitness? Instead of focusing on the things you don’t like about the program or getting discouraged by all the options, think about what attracted you to the program first and focus on building on those strengths. Instead of bouncing from one thing to another, try focusing on building good habits with one program that has a strong foundation. At the end of the day, fitness is about doing simple things consistently and building a strong foundation.
Ya’ll must understand that fitness is doing mundane, seemingly simple, hard things like showing up daily or prepping veggies daily. Yes, it’s not complicated. It’s just simple, maybe boring sometimes. And that’s okay. You can still do it in a way that makes it fun and exciting with the people you’re around or just always tie it to your end. Remember that quitting is always an option, but it’s not an option because once you quit, you have to start all over again from scratch. As long as you find something with decent points and benefits helping you move forward, stick with it! And don’t forget to celebrate your progress along the way – small wins add up over time and can keep you motivated when things get tough.
With a little patience and perseverance, you can reach your fitness goals using any number of programs – as long as you stick with one. Remember, it’s not about being perfect – it’s about doing your best and keeping going no matter what.
