Coping with Injury – with Erica Weise

There are a lot of things to consider when dealing with an injury. And we know that the healing process can be long, challenging, and at times, frustrating. But, putting in the work can make the world of difference. You just need to know what work to put in. Improper or poor training practices can lead to a more serious condition, and that is why asking help from an expert is vital. Not only can it help you make your progress better and faster, it also builds courage to go on.

One really big thing to be aware of and focus on is muscle imbalances. This can occur as a result of an injury that is not properly treated, or can happen as a result of playing sports that require the use of one muscle group more than the others. Or, it can just happen! We only get one body to live in, and we think it’s important to keep that body as healthy as possible so you can enjoy everything life has to offer.

Erica Weise is an elite level curler who developed an injury on the right side of the body. In order to continue to excel at her sport, Erica recognized the need to focus on regaining strength and overall muscle balance in order to do so. And that is where we stepped in!

At Greater Purpose, we offered a methodology called Movement Resolution. This method of training and treatment helps bridge the gap of recovery between the acute injury, and regaining strength and the ability to excel at sport. Our goal is to enable people to become holistically healthy and fit for them to live their life to the fullest, and CRUSH it at their sport 😉

Dedication and consistency towards recovery can get challenging at times. But with the right people surrounding and supporting you, a clear GOAL and a PURPOSE it keeps you going until it becomes a normal routine.

If you have an injury that you have been dealing with, and would like some help, our trained and caring team would LOVE to chat with you to see if we can help.
