We know at times it can be a challenge to get enough whole food sources of protein in, and that is a great time to use a protein supplement such as a whey or egg white protein powder. This can be really beneficial if you are someone who struggles to gain muscle mass, or if you are unable to eat a meal shortly after a workout.
Another benefit to include protein in your diet is that protein is thermogenic, meaning it helps burn calories and promote weight loss. It means that when consuming protein compared to other nutrients, it takes a lot of energy to digest it. So you’re burning more calories. Hence, you’re gaining more muscle mass.
Not getting enough protein can lead to several problems, including decreased strength, reduced endurance, and even loss of muscle mass. That is why we think it’s so important to include plenty of it in your diet!. And remember, as, with any other part of a healthy diet, balance is key!
