“Over the last few years, I have suffered from depression and because of this, my weight kept going up.
I work 4 days a week, am a wife, a mother of two, and we are sheep farmers. 3 years ago I started on a path to get my Masters in the Nurse Practitioner stream. The stress of trying to manage all of this created the image that I had no time to exercise or to eat healthy. Always on the run, always needing to get something else done, I forgot along the way to take time for me. I had been suffering from back problems and was worried about exercising making them worse.
When I did my No Sweat intro in January, they recommended the Nutrition program for me. I have been down this road before, high weight, inactive, and depressed. I love food. Growing up in a restaurant will do that to you. When I met with Jilisa, I hesitated to sign up. I had no idea what I needed to do. But before I left that room, I decided to jump in and sign up. In April, at the beginning of all this craziness, I signed up for online coaching with GPHF.
Consistency is what I needed in my life. I managed to go for 5 months with doing 4 workouts per week at home. I started going fully to the gym in September and haven’t looked back. Now almost 30 lbs lighter, fitter, and still just as busy, I have found that I still have just as much time for everything else as I have more energy, I feel happier, and I feel more confident. It has been a journey. One that is not over yet. I recently said, “I am glad I started when I did.” Now I can continue moving forward instead of wishing I was where I am today.”
